Throwing my $0.02 in
I personally think that all bids should be placed as close to the final seconds as possible. This creates, in effect a 'sealed bid' auction where everyone decides what it's worth to them, and the one who thinks it's worth the most gets it.
The advantage of ebay is that you'll only have to pay one bid increment more than the next-highest bid.
It also removes the possibility of knowingly bidding against someone else (provided all bids are placed in this manner) and the open market determines the price.
There are several free programs and services that will place your bid for you at the last seconds, so you don't even need to set an alarm [img]smile.gif[/img]

I don't know who "IS IN KASAS ANYMORE" is either, but consider yourself lucy. This is the fourth set of triples that he/she has bid on. Last week he/she paid $188 for a set of triples. In December he/she paid $212.00 for set of Tripples. I'm wondering, how many tripples would one need?
Anyway, gald you got these. My sister-in-law might have found two at an estate sale near me. I will be seeing them next week. This estate sale also has a Chambers Built In Range. I will be checking that out as well. Anyone interested?

Hey thaks for the well wishes (pun intended). I was blissfully ignorant until this AM when I checked my email only to get those "pay it now" messages. My top bid was 75.00$ Does that mean that someone elses top was 73.50$ or something? Or was someone sniping and the time ran out? (neener).
Maybe someone is cornering all the pots and when he or she gets them all they can RULE THE WORLD!!! What we need is a reasonablt priced modern reproduction so was can leave this outrageous bidding behind!
Funny, last time I bid on a pot (single, I think) someone out bid me called "phoebesmomlikesyardsales" and I consoled myself with the fantasy that my mother actually figured out what I really wanted in life and was gonna get it for me...Guess Not!
Lori, you are going to have quite the collection of heart shaped wearever pots! I hope you gat it for 99 cents!
Now, if anyone wants to sell me one triple pot...

I am with TMK on the bidding style. I think it is pointless to bid early on. I normally do not bid until very late in the game. I decide what the item is worth to me, and I swoop in at the end. I think I learned that from the pro's - cause it is what always happens to me.

I will inquire about the built-in. I think I can get it without paying, or paying nominally. If I can't get it for almost nothing, I will post the location of the estate sale. I don't even know where it is. I do know that it is the wek after St. Patricks Day.
